Harriet Salmon

Art Partnerships Director

STAFF MEMBER SINCE 2024

Harriet Salmon is a practicing artist and arts professional with a strong commitment to the potential of art. She’s excited to advocate for the artists of Creativity Explored to fulfill each of their personal goals while placing their artworks thoughtfully into the contemporary art conversation.

Harriet received her BFA from California College of Arts & Crafts and her MFA from Yale University School of Art. Prior to joining Creativity Explored, she spent time as a fine art fabricator and small business owner, helped build, define and operate arts-based nonprofits and arts education programs, and worked with emerging and underrepresented artists to have their work exhibited and collected. Harriet also worked on the editorial staff of Artforum, a magazine dedicated to the critical discourse surrounding visual culture. From her interest in journalism and time as a fabricator, she founded and produced Craftsmanship, a podcast and oral history project that discusses technical skill in the contemporary art world. After many years in New York, Harriet returned to the Bay Area and continues to enjoy a dedicated art making practice while co-directing Heroes Gallery, a curatorial project that pairs artists with their historical influences.
