Creativity Explored has been empowering artists with disabilities for over 40 years, changing the art world along the way— and now youth (grades 6-12) get to be a part of our community at Camp Imaginate while developing their own talent. 

Our camp is open to all San Francisco youth in grades 6-12, with a special focus on young people with disabilities.

Four awesome art-making options

Choose from painting & drawing, ceramics, fiber arts, or digital media. Choose your favorite option for either two-week session – it's all about what inspires you!

Customized for your grade level

6th-8th graders: Full-day Experience

  • Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 3 PM

9th - 12th graders: Half-day Sessions

  • Summer: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, 9 AM - 12 PM.

  • Spring Break: daily schedule coming soon.

Camp highlights for parents

  • Accessibility and Inclusion: Camp Imaginate is welcoming to all youth, including those with disabilities and English learners.

How we support neurodiverse and disabled campers

  • Low ratio of staff to campers to make sure campers get the support they need to thrive.

  • Support staff and teachers that are trained and experienced in providing services to students with disabilities.

  • Program activities that are designed around and adaptable to the accessibility needs of all of the campers at Camp Imaginate.

  • Mentorship and artist visits from the adult artists with developmental disabilities at Creativity Explored.
