Melanie Eng

Development Associate

STAFF MEMBER SINCE 2024

What a treat getting to share a little bit about myself with the rest of the CE community :-) you can use the following description about me:

Melanie was born and raised in San Francisco, CA. She received her BFA in Print Media from the California College of Arts & Crafts. Above all, Melanie considers herself a collaborative printmaker specializing in stone lithography, intaglio, and monotype printing. She utilizes her craft to express concepts and critiques of orientalism, otherness, and abstract timelines of her Chinese heritage.  She also enjoys working with textiles ranging from crochet, knit, and weaving. Prior to joining CE, Melanie worked as the Volunteer and Operations Coordinator to SCRAP, where she was an active advocate for community arts and sustainable arts practices. In addition to her non-profit work, she has worked in professional print studios working on artist editions at the Highpoint Center for Printmaking in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Melanie became familiar with Creativity Explored through the studio artists who would volunteer with her weekly at SCRAP, where she would help CE artists develop their knowledge of art materials. Her favorite part about working at Creativity Explored is her time spent talking with artists in the studio. Outside of work, Melanie enjoys baking elaborate desserts, crafting with friends, and hiking along trails though the Bay Area.
