An infinite believer in the potential of art, Alisa is driven by bringing folks together through the power of exhibitions and public programming. Stemming from a museum education background, her curatorial practice is rooted in activating spaces and creating hands-on experiences that spark curiosity, connection, and joy. Alisa holds an MA in Art and Museum Studies from Georgetown University and graduated with a BA from the San Francisco State History Department. She was born in Vitebsk, Belarus, and grew up in Sacramento, CA.
Prior to joining Creativity Explored, Alisa served as the Curator of Exhibitions and Youth Programs at the San Francisco School of Needlework & Design, where she put on exhibitions featuring contemporary fiber artists, alongside exhibitions from the SFSNAD's historic textile collection. Before pursuing exhibitions, Alisa worked in museum education departments across the country, including the SFMoMA, de Young, and the Smithsonian. In addition to her nonprofit work, Alisa directed the Craig Krull Gallery in Santa Monica, California, where she worked closely with contemporary artists of all mediums across Los Angeles.
Everyday, Alisa is endlessly inspired by the creative buzz in the studios and lives for the contagious excitement of artists’ sharing their work. In her free time, Alisa enjoys visiting museums, camping, gardening, and cooking with her loved ones.
