Former CE artist Michael Bernard Loggins has a lot to say and he’s not afraid to say it.

Life is a mix of nuts, raspberries, cranberries, almonds, and cookies, and bananas and pears, if you consider it that way. Life is a mix of different kinds of categories.
— Michael Bernard Loggins

Loggins first joined CE in 1984 and has always preferred writing as his primary form of art. An intuitive and natural writer, he uses writing as a form of emotional outlet. Loggins often likes to write about what’s on his mind, whether it’s his fears, memories, feelings, or health and safety.

Loggins has two published books: Fears of Your Life, a list of his more than 180 fears, and Imaginationally, an illustrated dictionary of words made up by Loggins.

For years, Loggins frequents his favorite local bookstore, Adobe Books, and likes to leave messages for unsuspecting readers. Some of his notes include “What is your biggest fear?” and “LIFE IS A LOT HARDER AS IT IS ALREADY. LET LIFE COME MORE EASIER.“ Read more about Loggins’ ritualistic habit featured on Mission Local here.

Loggins left CE in 2011 but has visited the studio regularly before the shutdown.
