Art Changes Lives 2022 highlights

CE artists gather onstage to kick off the Art Changes Lives dance party.

After nearly three years, the community gathered to celebrate the power of art.

THANK YOU for supporting the long-awaited return of our in-person fundraising gala Art Changes Lives! With your help, we raised over $170,000 to support Creativity Explored artists and programs, and donations are still rolling in. Whether you joined us in-person or engaged in our online auction, it was so special to be in community again.

Here is a recap of some of our favorite highlights from the festivities:

Teaching artist Lacey Johnson and CE artist Ethel Revita in front of their animation on Salesforce Tower.

  • Thanks to our sponsors, we welcomed 40 artists and their families – our largest CE artist turnout ever

  • Yukari Sakura welcomed the crowd with exuberant stage presence.

  • A bidding war ensued over Selene Perez’s coveted red swan.

  • Ethel Revita and the whole community saw her animation dance across the Salesforce Tower.

  • Jesus Huezo’s San Francisco skyline in the silent auction garnered wide attention and Jesus even met the winner and new owner!

  • CE artist Gerald Wiggins and board member Henry Tsai discussed the choices they make and how CE supports Gerald in making choices about his art practice.

If you were unable to join us this year, you can keep the party going with a donation to support our life-changing services. To donate, click here or text “artchangeslives" to 56651.

Thank you again to our long-time supporters, new supporters, and sponsors for supporting the art and disability community. Without you, Art Changes Lives would not be possible. Art changes lives – and so do friends like you!
