Wendy Norris is the founder of Norris Communications, one of the Bay Area's leading arts and culture marketing and public relations firms. She has more than 20 years of experience in the arts, ranging from education and nonprofits to museums and the commercial art world.


Generating widespread visibility for her clients, her depth of professional experiences with the arts and cultural institutions in the Bay Area and beyond, includes leading the communications for the opening of the Contemporary Jewish Museum, The David Ireland House/500 Capp Street Foundation, Museum of Craft and Design, and the McEvoy Foundation for the Arts.


Prior to forming Norris Communications in 2007, Ms. Norris worked for the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, where she was responsible for leading the communications and media relations team for the rebuilding and the reopening of the Herzog & de Meuron designed de Young Museum in 2005. She began her career in the arts and culture sectors in Nairobi, Kenya at the Maasai Cultural Center in the mid-90s as the public relations and project manager for the institution and holds degrees in Anthropology (BA) from the University of Oregon and in Museum Studies (MA) from John F. Kennedy University.

Wendy is a firm believer in the power and charisma of the visual arts and in storytelling to make the unfamiliar familiar, to empower
individuals, and to create more compassionate and inclusive communities.
