Eliot Rattle
Care Companion
Staff Member since 2022
Eliot Rattle, born in the UK, moved to San Francisco in 1997. He attended Sarah Lawrence College in New York where he received a BA before returning to the Bay Area to study drawing and painting at San Francisco Art Institute. Having studied art and film history throughout his educational career, his work often uses theatrical faces or environments from black and white television to build abstract images/stories. After attending SFAI, he began his work as a caretaker while supporting a family friend, realizing that he had a penchant for social service work. He went on to work in Community Living at Toolworks; an organization providing home care and support for clients with disabilities, where he worked for more than 5 years with, among others, artists from the arts organization Creativity Explored. This led him to an admiration of and interest in Creativity Explored, where he has been working as a care
companion in 2022.
Eliot Rattle has shown work in the Bay Area and abroad, including shows in Italy and London, and recently completed artist residencies at the Journal Building and Upper Market Gallery in San Francisco. Visit Eliotrattle.com to see his art and learn more.
