Sakura of America teams up with Creativity Explored to support the creative visions of neurodiverse and disabled artists

We are thrilled to announce a new collaboration with Sakura of America. Creativity Explored artists have been using Sakura art supplies in our studios for decades. This year, Sakura has partnered with CE by donating art supplies to our studios and highlighting six CE artists: Vincent Jackson, Joseph Omolayole, Musette Perkins, Cheryle Rutledge, Yukari Sakura, and Gustavo Urbina. Throughout November and December 2021, Sakura is spotlighting these six artists on their website and across social media platforms.

Sakura of America and CE share a common mission, believing in a world of possibility powered by human creativity. Sakura is proud to support our commitment to disabled artists, who are making their mark on their own terms. Together, we strongly believe art is for everyone. We are excited to partner and share the stories, techniques, and artwork of artists who are creating today. The features include interviews, new artwork created with Sakura art supplies, and videos highlighting their favorite products and techniques.

Check out the artist spotlights on the Sakura of America Instagram @SakuraOfAmerica and website. We’ll be following along on the CE Instagram, too, @CreativityExplored!

It’s good for me to have good art supplies. If they are not quality, they can keep them and lock them up for a month. I love making art because it brings character – it brings character to me. It amazes me what I can do. If it didn’t amaze me, I would have left it a long long time ago. It makes me feel like I can always do more.
— Vincent Jackson
(I love making art) because it’s inspiring and beautiful, and art is sometimes unique and sometimes realistic. Creating art makes me feel happy and imaginative. What inspires me to do art is from watching cartoon shows, animal and nature documentaries, and some fictionalized animals such as the ones from Disney movies.
— Yukari Sakura
