As our Habitat collaboration benefiting Creativity Explored comes to a close, we are feeling grateful for our community of partners, artists, and creatives. We've all done a lot of adapting this year and despite challenges, the Creativity Explored community is working together to support artists with disabilities from home thanks to some help from our friends.

Our desire to celebrate our annual collaboration at the Herman Miller showroom inspired us to be at home with the changing world with Habitat. CE artists contributed their art and new drawings of sheep, inspired by our virtual visit to artist Claudy Jongstra’s sheep farm. The sheep took on a life of their own as a mascot for Habitat, exploring the environments in our stead. We drew sheep for weeks at various classes

Since June, CE artists were making art on donated designer decor items from our sponsors and using textiles from Maharam in their home practice.

The delivered and facilitated projects on HAY dining room chairs with CE artists Kevin Roach, Zachary Adams and John Iwaszewics. Teaching artists sent fabric in the mail to artists like Amani Swalim and Maribel Guzman.

Pilar Olabarria facilitated collaborations between a cohort of artists with Miriam Munguia and her masterful embroidery at the center of the collaborations. Our gallery team and curators brought all of the CE work together in thoughtful collections for Habitat.

On top of the creations, we got to enjoy special experiences together – at the NYC Maharam studio and to Holland at Claudy Jongstra’s sheep farm. A panel of top designers transported us to environments where art breathed life into their designs and visions. You can watch the panel anytime below.

Thank you to all our partners and supporters
