There is no doubt the coronavirus threw a wrench in all of our plans. The Creativity Explored studios are a place where anyone, regardless of background, can come in, gather inspiration, create art, and be themselves fully.

When our studios closed in March 2020, our community was devastated. Since then we’ve adapted, pivoted, and evolved to the new reality.

Now, after nearly 18 months, countless Zoom/phone calls and art supply drop-offs, and piles of back-and-forth mail art – we are thrilled to reopen the studios to the artists!

Artists are happily adjusting to the new safety guidelines and picked back up their usual routines of artmaking at CE as if the studio never closed. Our teams were impressed that artists dove into old and new projects immediately upon arrival – within minutes the space was humming with the usual sounds of diligent work and laughter.

Teaching artists described being back in the studio with artists as "natural" and "familiar.” Teaching artist Judith LaRosa emphasized the significance of making art surrounded by good company, noting through happy tears, "We were sharing an experience."

Thanks for sticking with us on this incredible journey. Nothing feels better than being together again and seeing the artists thrive and create in their community spaces.

P.S. Our gallery is also open to the public by appointment. Schedule your appointment today at creativityexplored.org/appointments.
