Celebrate the legacy of our founders in new exhibition produced in partnership with Christie’s San Francisco and our sister organizations, Creative Growth and NIAD.

In 1974, Florence and Elias Katz founded Creative Growth as a response to statewide cuts in services for adults with disabilities. In 1983, they opened Creativity Explored in San Francisco, and in 1982 they went on to create NIAD (Nurturing Independence Through Artistic Development) in Richmond. Although we operate separately, we share a common mission to serve and to support developmentally disabled artists by providing professional studio space, exhibition opportunities, and representation.

From December 2 to 9, visit Christie’s San Francisco to view Future History: The Katz Legacy in the galleries for free.
