Susan Henderson
President
Board member since 2023
Susan Henderson is the executive director of Disability Rights Education & Defense Fund (DREDF), a national disability rights law and policy center based in Berkeley, with an office in Washington, DC. At DREDF, she started the Disability & Media Alliance Project to complement its legal work by reorienting media's focus from sensational and cloying stories about disabled people to telling stories that make clear that inclusion and opportunity for children and adults with disabilities are civil and human rights issues. Susan worked for 13 years as part of the team that planned, designed and constructed the Ed Roberts Campus, a universally-designed building in Berkeley. She loves her job and the community of people with disabilities who she has been fortunate to meet and work with around the world.
